About Bill

I have lived in El Cerrito for over 41 years. My desire is to serve the City I call home in a positive and productive manner. I am not a one issue or one mind candidate. I do not champion one particular cause other than the health and welfare of the community. I feel that community and community government are continuums, works in progress. My role, therefore, is to contribute to the community governance in a constructive manner in order for the continuums to continue. In the next four years my goal is to solidify a positive and productive foundation of governance in order for the community to function in the present and move forward toward the future.
I know the community. My professional experience in the public sector (working in senior management for city government) and the private sector (as a business owner and as senior management for a corporation) has prepared me with the skills and insight needed to be part of the management and decision-making process that is essential to operating a City. I understand the business side of government. I understand the service side of government. And I feel I can blend the two to provide the expertise and leadership necessary to service on the Council. I can be trusted to service in an honest and straight forward manner. I may not make decisions that everyone, even my supporters, would agree with all the time; however, they know and trust that I will do my best to make to decisions that will have the community's best interests in mind.
